Junior Program

Pickleball is a sport for all ages. And more and more young people are picking up paddles and heading to the courts. It can simply be fun to play, or it can really take you places! In fact, some of our junior members have won medals at the USA and Canadian National Championships.

The Parkland Pickleheads welcome players from the ages of 10-17 to join our Junior Program. Our dedicated and knowledgeable coaching team is excited to share their skills and passion with local youth.

Why Pickleball?
  • It’s easy to learn - easier than most sports
  • The rules are pretty simple, and will be explained to you at your first session
  • Minimal equipment needed
  • Great way to stay active
  • Fun place to meet new friends
  • One of the few sports that can be played as a family
  • Lots of opportunities for competitive play and athlete development
  • Can be played now in any community that has a pickleball court - and they’re popping up everywhere!

PLUS:
Membership is affordable, at only $25/year (+ Pickleball Alberta and Pickleball Canada fees). We can even provide a paddle if you don’t have one.

To play in the Adult Round Robin / Ladder programs, Juniors MUST:
  • have a tournament or certified rating of 3.0 or above.
  • continue to participate in the youth program either playing, drilling or mentoring.
  • be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian at all times!
  • wear safety glasses/eyewear (recommended for all players, MANDATORY for minors!).
  • wear proper Court Footwear (no sandals or crocs)
  • Bring a Positive Attitude and the desire to have fun and learn new skills!
