Singles Fun Tournament 2018

Parkland Pickleheads in Spruce Grove is looking to have a 1 day Mixed Singles fun tourney.
Sunday Aug 5, 10am registration, 1st game starts at 10:30am sharp.
We would like to invite anyone out who is interested, there will be 2 divisions: intermediate, and advanced.
Beginners are more than welcome to come out, they will play in the intermediate division.
The invitation is extended out to all clubs in AB. *There may be a cap per club if demand exceeds capacity.
The cost will be $20 which will be used for fruit, water, balls etc.
48 balls will be purchased & all balls will be given away at the end of the day - 1/person!
There will be a table with 48 small Pickleball related prizes - you will get to pick your prize in the order that you finish in the tournament. Everyone will go home with something cool and original!
We have 12 fantastic new courts, individually fenced.
Since it’s singles, there can be up to 24 intermediate and 24 advanced players.
All games are best 2 of 3, points will go to 7 win by 1 so every serve and return counts!
The odd numbered courts are on one side, even of course on the other.
Intermediate will play on the odd courts, advanced on the even.
When a game finishes, the next game will begin immediately, as the next teams will be called before their game begins and told that they will be “on deck” to go to the next court that opens up on their side.
There will be 4 groups with 6 players per group, 5 round robin games will be played, the top 2 players in each group will play the ‘A’ playoff pool: an 8 person bracket style single elimination until there is a winner (3 games - quarter finals, semi-finals, finals).
The 3rd & 4th place players in each group will enter a ‘B’ playoff pool with the same format.
As well as the 5th & 6th place players will enter the ‘C’ playoff pool.
All players will play 6 minimum to 8 maximum games each.
Once your games are over, for those of you who still have energy in the tank, we will be playing mixed doubles for fun.
Intermediate and advanced will remain separate.
